Online Dating: Does it work?

This is my online dating rant. I mean whatever happened to meeting people the old fashioned way? Well the old fashioned way is full of it. It doesn't work, why? Because we all have our preconceived notions of who we should be dating, who is worthy to stand beside us, and who would ultimately be the ONE. So online dating was created and people thought, "Oh man, an easier way to meet people". Is it though? I personally don't think so. I joined match.com and you know what, it's JUST as hard as regular dating. So instead of, walking over, trying to start a conversation and getting shot down; now we get to send an e-mail and wink and wait for a reply that will not come. The problem here is not the medium, it's the people. How can we change the people?

Now that's a conundrum people have considered over centuries with no overarching solution. We've seen the general brainwashing of the weak minded, the stubborn nature of those who already think they know everything and the grey areas inhabited by those who can't make a choice. With options like these, how could change ever come to pass; shoot, we can't even get people to accept different races, sexual preferences or even how the human race we came into existence. So where does that leave us? Well, as the saying goes, "you can bring the horse to the river but you can't make him drink". So we can create many different avenues to provide an opening or option to meet other people but we can't make people open themselves up to the opportunity.

I gotta say, I am still floored by the concept of Twin Flames (the ultimate soul mate) and it's what everyone wants but can't get past themselves to find. Too many self-centered emotions in the way. So what now then? Well with the concept of twin flames, your true soul mate will find you when you least expect it. So we just have to keep can open mind and an open heart to the possibility. Not easily done, but definitely doable.

So online dating, does it work? Well it's 50/50 if you ask me, like anything else you sometimes just get lucky. So don't knock it till you've tried it but don't expect any miracles either. It's just another way to meet people, just remember when you're bitching about how the online dating site sucks and it doesn't work; it's not the site that sucks but the people that have signed up for that site. The site does its' job by bringing you together, now do your job and make it happen.

Ain't love grand? Or it would be if we all could find it!! So enjoy the appetizers on the road to true love, they promise to be entertaining if nothing else. They just act as fillers until you're main course arrives; lucky for you, you get to choose your entree most of the time.
